Degrees and Accreditation
The College of Mines and Earth Sciences, through its four academic
departments, offers three engineering and three earth sciences
majors:

Dual majors (that lead to the B.S. degree) are offered in geology-
geophysics, mathematics-geophysics, physics-geophysics, and
biology-geology.
A teaching major and minor are offered in geology. Each department
has one or more advisers who assist students in meeting University,
college, and major requirements. For information, contact the

Accreditation The University is accredited by the Northwest Association of
Schools and Colleges and is a member of the Utah System of Higher
Education. The Department of Meteorology is a member of the University
Corporation for Atmospheric Research. Curricula in metallurgical
and mining engineering are accredited by the
Accreditation
Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
