Student Advisory Committee
Each department has a Student Advisory Committee that participates in the governance of the department. All students are invited to participate in SAC activities.

College Council
The College Council develops academic policy, considers curriculum issues, and makes faculty appointment, promotion, and tenure decisions. Faculty and student representatives from all departments of the college are voting members of the council.

College Advisory Council
An advisory council is in place in each department of the College of Mines and Earth Sciences. These councils comprise representatives from the minerals industry, government laboratories, trade associations, and other interested groups. Members of the departmental councils occasionally are called upon to form an ad hoc College Advisory Council to discuss items that affect the local and national minerals and earth sciences communities.
